Multiple First Dates With Spouse

I came across a genius idea in my Facebook feed that I had to share it with our readers!

multiple-first-dates-spouse-experience

Have you heard about the “Truth Bomb Mom?” Her videos always inspire me and make me laugh, but the video below has to be in my top 3!

Truth Bomb Mom (aka Kristina Kuzmic) shares her secret to a happy marriage and the best, most creative way to reconnect with her spouse–lots of FIRST DATES.

What exactly does she mean by “first dates?” It means going on date nights as if they just met and were going on their actual first date.

Recreating First Dates

It begins with her husband texting her “Hey, this is Phillip. It was great meeting you the other night. I would love to take you out to dinner.”

He is pretending they just met to recreate that newness and anticipation of a first date.

The Pioneer Woman Cookbooks

The Pioneer Woman Cooks – Come and Get It! is Ree Drummond’s newest cookbook.  This cookbook touts simple, scrumptious recipes for crazy busy lives.

pioneer-woman-cooks-come-and-get-it-cookbook-thoughtful-gift-ideaIt’s the perfect gift for anyone who loves to cook and is a fan of The Pioneer Woman.

Food blogger and cookbook author Ree Drummond, aka as “The Pioneer Woman,” is a sassy former city slicker who has moved to a ranch in Oklahoma to live with her rancher husband, their children and a menagerie of animals.

Drummond also has a TV series on the Food Network and invites viewers into her life (and kitchen), sharing her brand of home cooking, from suppers that are thrown together in a hurry to preparing elaborate celebrations.

It’s amazing to me how you can Google recipes for any cuisine from your phone while walking down the aisle of a grocery store. So convenient!

But… if you know someone who still enjoys the feel of a cookbook, The Pioneer Woman Cooks – Come and Get It! is a treasure of delicious recipes! And her down-to-earth way of writing will make anyone laugh.

I just so happened to know that someone. My son’s girlfriend, Danielle, beamed from head to toe when she opened the cookbook gift signed by her idol.

Pioneer Woman’s Simple, Scrumptious, Doable Recipes

Danielle, her mother, and sister are huge fans of Ree Drummond and traveled to Pawhuska, Oklahoma to visit the Pioneer Woman’s Mercantile Store.  They were mesmerized by the general store, exceptional deli, and amazing desserts in the bakery! Continue Reading

Splurge on a Fancy Dinner | Culinary Experience

Have you every wanted to try an expensive restaurant but always talked yourself out of going there?

splurge-fancy-dinner-restaurant-gift

I’m guilty.

There is an expensive steak restaurant near where I live that I’ve always wanted to try. It’s so close to my house I drive by it almost every day.

The restaurant has a great reputation, and I’ve heard about the delicious food from lots of people I know. So why haven’t I gone there yet?

It’s not that I can’t afford it. I just always come up with different reasons not to. Let’s see…

I’d rather spend that money on something else I want. I feel guilty spending that much money on steak when I’m perfectly happy with the steak served at other less expensive restaurants. I end up deciding to try  another new restaurant in town that isn’t so expensive.

But guess what this lucky lady got for Christmas?! My thoughtful husband gave a gift card to the expensive steak restaurant in my Christmas stocking!

Since I would never splurge on going to that restaurant, he decided he would do it for me!

Plan a MEGA Date Night

My husband and I planned our first MEGA Date Night and it was legen…wait for it…dary!

plan-mega-date-night-thoughtful-giftA MEGA Date Night involves two or more date nights combined into one. My husband and I enjoy going on dates to see an Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game or to dinner and then a comedy club.

During our MEGA Date Night, we combined both date nights! We went out to dinner for some seafood, then attended a Thunder game, AND then attended a comedy club show.

Because I love to dress up, I even changed outfits between the basketball game and the comedy club show.

We had an amazing time doing some of our favorite things back-to-back-to-back! We felt like we were in college again we crammed so many fun experiences into one night.

Heart-Shaped Steaks Make Memorable Valentine’s Day Dinner

This Valentine’s Day I was looking to give my true love a gift that had the WOW factor. I wasn’t looking for romantic or sentimental. I was looking to knock his socks off!

heart-shaped-steak-valentines-day-gift-idea-sunburst-giftsSo I bought him two pounds (hoping he would share!) of prime aged hand-cut ribeye steak from a local meat market – and check this out – asked the butcher to cut it into the shape of a HEART.

A “Sweetheart Steak!”

It looked stunning – all that bright red meat marbled with strands of cream-colored fat and covered in a delicious spice rub.

The perfect hunk of meat for my sexy, hunk of meat.

The heart-shaped steak got the reaction I wanted from my husband Kevin. He was surprised by the shape and impressed by the size. (Men and their preoccupation with size… I swear.)

He had never seen anything like it, and he couldn’t wait to throw it on the grill and eat it. Mission accomplished!
