April Fools’ Day Pranks

April Fools’ Day is so much fun and it doesn’t matter whether you are in on the prank or the recipient of the joke!

I remember my very first office prank in the 1970s. I left a message for my boss to call Mr. Lyon. Secretly, the number was to the Oklahoma City Zoo.

When my boss called the number, he heard a recording of Mr. Lyon saying “April Fools!” We both got a kick out of it but by today’s standards seems kind of lame.

Today’s pranks are so much more elaborate.

For example, completely aluminum foil an entire office–the desk, computer, keyboard, phone, calculator, pictures, chair, bookcase, pens, pencils, everything! Or cover an entire car with sticky notes!

Is it macarons or macaroons?

I found out recently there IS a difference between the two besides the spelling. A macaroon is coconut based.

For this gift idea, I’m referring to macarons, which are meringue based and come in a wide range of colors and flavors.

There are SO many colors and flavors to choose from which makes it fun to give someone a variety!

If you’ve never had a macaron, it’s a delicate cookie with two thin crusts and a filling made of either ganache, buttercream or fruit jam.

It’s also full of contrasts. A macaron packs huge flavor into a tiny baked goodie, and it’s somehow both rich and light at the same time.

They come in delicious flavors such as mint chocolate, cookies and cream, mojito, honey lavender, lemon tart, and piña colada. Is your mouth watering yet? Because I’m just scratching the surface on the different types of macaron flavors out there.

When I say my husband loves to fish, I mean he LOVES to catch fish.

Over the years he has collected many fishing rods but there’s a problem.

He has so many that he can no longer store them in the corners of the garage. Sometimes it’s a mess because they get tangled up with the hooks.

Randy had purchased other wall racks only to find they were poorly designed. He continued his search and found an innovative fishing rod storage rack, the Cobra Racks, that fits on the back of the garage door.

Remember PillowPets? A stuffed animal that can also be used as a pillow?

The new hot item for kids are Cubcoats!

What are they? Cubcoats are stuffed animals that transform into soft fleece hoodies. They’re super adorable!

One of my good friends recently bought them for her two young children and loves them so much I had to write this post.

She said when her son unzipped his Spider-Man Cubcoat, he said, “Wow!! There is so much inside this little guy! I didn’t even know all this was here!”
