Honey, let’s go out on a date this weekend.
That sounds fun! What should we do?
I’m not sure. Do you have any ideas?
I can’t think of anything right now. I guess I’m okay with going out to eat somewhere and then watching a movie.
BORING. And not memorable in the least.
But it’s not because we’re boring people. We’re just uninspired and out of ideas.
Thankfully, a fellow blogger named Dennis Spielman has come to save us from ourselves! He published a book called Uncovering Oklahoma’s 2014 Date Idea Book that describes all sorts of memorable places in Oklahoma to eat, visit, and share unique experiences with your date.
My favorite dates include some sort of fun experience so I’m going to highlight my top three favorites out of the book.
- Take a scuba diving class together at Bluewater Divers in Oklahoma City. Its more affordable than you might think. The registration fee for the Discover Scuba Diving Program only costs $50 and if you end up liking it you can apply the cost towards your Open Water Certification class.
- Visit The Toy and Action Figure Museum in Pauls Valley. Even if you normally hate museums, you’ll love this place because they have more than 13,000 action figures on display and photos are encouraged! They also have several sets for awesome photo-ops or selfies with your date.
- Experience the longest zip line in Oklahoma high atop the Arbuckle Mountains with Air Donkey Zipline Adventures in Davis.
More fun and creative date ideas can also be found on Dennis’s blog dedicated to “Uncovering Creative Places and People in Oklahoma” www.uncoveringoklahoma.com.
