A Going Away Present Anyone Will Love | Best Pizza in Town

When my friend Bose’ told me she was moving to Chicago to start her life anew, I felt sad for me but excited for her. I also felt proud of her for being so bold and courageous. Moving to a big city by yourself is no small thing.
You have to find a new place to live, start a new job and make new friends.
With my going away present to Bose’, I wanted to help her make new friends while experiencing an important part of Chicago’s food culture – Chicago-style deep dish pizzas.
I bought her a gift card to Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria, a restaurant many people claim makes the best pizza in Chicago, especially if you order The “Lou.”
I thought Bose’ could use the gift card to invite a new friend to lunch or dinner.
Out of all the deep dish pizza restaurants in Chicago, I picked Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria because it came highly recommended by a friend who’s lived in Chicago for years. Also, according to its website, the eatery has been a Chicago favorite for years but is gaining national attention for being featured on shows like: Throw Down with Bobby Flay™, Road Tasted™, Pizza Wars™, Chef Vs. City™, America’s Test Kitchen™, and Food Wars™!
I also checked the restaurant’s Urbanspoon rating and almost all of its locations are rated 90% or higher. That’s amazingly high and pretty much guarantees that the food kicks ass.
I taped the gift card to the inside of a brand new pizza box from Hideaway Pizza, a restaurant that I would say makes THE best pizza in Oklahoma City. (Psst… if you go there, make sure to order The Boz – my all-time favorite!)
I included a note with her moving away gift that said:
Since you can’t have the best pizza in Oklahoma City, you deserve the best pizza in Chicago!
There’s no better feeling in the world than a warm pizza box on your lap. – Kevin James

I would never have thought to get pizza from there. That’s not too far from my house so I’d like to try it sometime. Thanks for the recommendation!
