Lightweight & Portable Nylon Hammock

When I think of a hammock, three things come to mind–rest, relaxation and sleep. With a portable hammock, you can enjoy those three things wherever you go!

lightweight-portable-nylon-hammock-giftDid you know the best hammocks are no longer made of rope?

They’re made of parachute nylon which makes them extremely soft and comfortable. It’s like sleeping in a cloud because the hammock stretches and conforms to your body.

The nylon material is also what makes them lightweight and portable, allowing them to pack down to a very compact size. A person doesn’t even have to roll or fold–simply shove the hammock back into the attached, small stuff sack.

In the stuff sack, a two-person hammock packs down to 6 inches X 9 inches. So small!

Inflatable Solar Powered Lanterns

My inflatable solar powered lanterns give better light than my battery operated ones. And they’re not even expensive.

inflatable-solar-powered-lanterns-giftA friend brought hers on a camping canoe trip, and I wanted my own immediately. I now own two!

Eco-Friendly Design

During the day, my friend carried it on the outside of her pack to let it absorb solar energy, and at night she used it to light up our entire tent. When fully charged, it shines for up to 12 hours.

I also like to go backpacking, and all of my gear needs to be lightweight. These are perfect!

These inflatable solar powered lanterns weigh 4 oz. and don’t take up any room because they have a collapsible design.

Canoe Camping Wilderness Adventure

There are places in the United States known as canoe country. It’s where water and wilderness combine for a canoe trip of a lifetime.

Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW), or Boundary Waters for short, is one of those places. The area is a million acres of pristine wilderness containing more than 1,000 lakes that borders Canada, hence the name Boundary Waters.

I recently returned from a Girl Scouts travel camp where 11 of us drove north from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Ely, Minnesota for everyone’s first camping canoe experience. There were seven girls ages 12-17, and four adult volunteers.

Into the Wilderness

Separated into two groups with two guides each, we unplugged from civilization and headed out with only our canoes, paddles, camping gear, food, and a thirst for adventure.

For five days, we experienced breath-taking views of a wilderness paradise as we paddled across crystal-clear waters. I can’t believe I spotted more than 10 bald eagles on my trip!

Let Kids Camp Out Inside With Indoor Tent

Kids love camping outdoors but sometimes the weather or temperature just doesn’t cooperate. An indoor tent designed for kids will do the trick!

lets-go-camping-indoor-kids-tent-thoughtful-gift-ideaMy son needed a birthday gift for a four-year old boy. He knew little boys never have enough cars, super heroes and Legos, but he wanted to give something a little more imaginative.

Kids Indoor Tent

Dustin found the cutest indoor tent that would fit perfectly anywhere in the house. It’s perfect for play dates and sleepovers!

The Ozark Trail Kids Camping Tent is designed with pictures of the moon, stars, trees, a camp fire and a sign that says “Let’s Go Camping”.

The 5 ft. x 3 ft. tent also comes in a drawstring bag for easy storage.  Continue Reading

Hands-Free Headlamp Beanie Cap

Guys love cool technology. At least the guys in my family do!

beanie-cap-led-lights-thoughtful-gift-ideaMy dog, Cricket, gives out Christmas presents too. This year, she’s giving my husband a black Hands-Free Headlamp Beanie Cap with LED lights. Cricket thinks he can use it to light the way when he takes her on walks at night.

This kind features two bright piercing spotlights for distance viewing and two soft floodlights for close range tasks. Although it’s a flashlight and a hat combined, it’s washable and made of comfortable lightweight fleece.

My husband is always working on some project in the garage year round so a Hands-Free Headlamp Beanie Cap will definitely come in handy during the cold winter months. They are also a useful accessory for camping, fishing, hunting, emergencies, reading, auto repair, or home improvement.

S’mores Kit for Camping

It’s funny how your birthday plans change as you grow older. Instead of a fun night out on the town, this year I wanted to celebrate my birthday by going camping outdoors with my husband and son.

smores-kit-camping-thoughtful-giftWe’ve only taken my son camping once before and I was excited to continue want I wanted to become a family tradition.

When my boss heard about my big plans to go camping during my birthday weekend, it inspired her birthday gift to me.

She gave me a S’mores Kit for Camping which included an 8-piece marshmallow roasting fork set, a box of graham crackers, a package of Hershey’s milk chocolates, and a bag of marshmallows.

Queen Size Sleeping Bag for Two

Imagine cuddling under the stars… Sharing body warmth… Inside a sleeping bag for two!

sleeping-bag-for-twoCamping is definitely more fun, cozy and romantic when you’re sharing a queen size sleeping bag designed for couples.

If your special someone is not interested in camping, a two-person sleeping bag might be just the thing to make the idea of sleeping outdoors more attractive. If you think about it, being zipped up together will make camping feel more like sleeping in a regular bed and less like tent-sleeping.

If you and your loved one already enjoy camping, well… a two-person sleeping bag gives you the opportunity to do more at night besides (*cough) sleep.
