Love Letters for Valentine’s Day

Listen up guys – Love letters for Valentine’s Day trump cards, candy and flowers! Especially, if you haven’t written one in a very long time.

Love Letter -web-sgI wrote a post for Valentine’s Day last year on this very subject. I heard from women about how thrilled they were to get their love letters. Some letters were mailed to the office like I suggested, and others were placed strategically on kitchen counters or on bathroom sinks.

I’m telling you this is a no-fail gift for Valentine’s Day!

Now, I have a confession to make… There’s a back story to that “Mail a Handwritten Love Letter” article.

Last year, I told my husband he needed to write me a love letter so I could use it in my post.

When I asked him to write it, he gave me that “deer in the headlights” look. I couldn’t believe it even though it had been years since he had written one.

“After 48 years of being together, you have forgotten how to write a love letter???” I asked. Still the “look” and no response. “Fine!” I said. “I’ll write one to help you get started and you can add to it, change it or whatever.”

The letter you see in the post is what I wrote. After he copied it in his handwriting and handed it back to me, I began to read it. Word for word was exactly the same until the very last word, he added Forever. I said, “That’s it! You changed one word? And, you’re out of the dog house? That’s really really good!”

I couldn’t help but laugh on how he managed to get out of the mess he found himself in.

So ladies, do not be disappointed if you have to help the guys practice writing love letters. They may surprise you by saying how much they love you in just one word!
