Customizable Room Wall Decals

I love seeing beautiful quotes written on walls that inspire fun, laughter, warmth or a simple Ahhh feeling.

At first, I thought they were professionally painted but learned they are removable wall decals.

wall-decal-grandchildren-lifes-greatest-joy-thoughtful-gift-ideaWall decals (also called wall stickers) are a quick way to enhance a room whether it’s in someone’s home or office.

Peel and stick wall decals will adhere to any clean, smooth surface including mirrors, doors and cabinetry. They’re easy peasy to apply, look hand-painted, and leave no mess.

Even more amazing is the wall lettering will not damage walls or leave residue and can be easily removed.

I selected several wall decals at a craft store and gave them as gifts. There are so many designs and varieties you can find one to match every personality, interest or occasion.

If you can’t find what you want, you can always order custom wall decals through websites like Etsy.com. There may be a quote or saying that is unique to your friendship or family. Continue Reading

Umbrellas With Personality

An umbrella is usually a practical gift, and if you give one that is the basic black, red or hunter green – it’s booooring. Don’t do it.

umbrellas-with-personality-thoughtful-gift-ideaI love red lipstick, and when my friend gave me an amusing umbrella with a gentleman’s hand holding a red lipstick, my jaw dropped! I had never ever seen anything like it. What a cool gift!

Today’s umbrellas have personality and come in all shapes, sizes and designs for adults and kids.

They’re colorful, cheery, fancy, whimsical, clever and fun. The kind of gift that will definitely bring sunshine to their day!

Did you know there are as many variety of umbrellas as raindrops? Well… maybe not quite, but the selection is endless.

There are delightful sky umbrellas to keep your skies blue, beautiful art umbrellas that are more affordable than the original famous museum paintings, and LED umbrellas that light up.

Plan a MEGA Date Night

My husband and I planned our first MEGA Date Night and it was legen…wait for it…dary!

plan-mega-date-night-thoughtful-giftA MEGA Date Night involves two or more date nights combined into one. My husband and I enjoy going on dates to see an Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game or to dinner and then a comedy club.

During our MEGA Date Night, we combined both date nights! We went out to dinner for some seafood, then attended a Thunder game, AND then attended a comedy club show.

Because I love to dress up, I even changed outfits between the basketball game and the comedy club show.

We had an amazing time doing some of our favorite things back-to-back-to-back! We felt like we were in college again we crammed so many fun experiences into one night.

LOTTO Fun for the Whole Family

Looking for a gift that is inexpensive but creates a “big bang for the buck?” Lottery tickets and scratch offs are fun and easy on the pocket book if you have lots of gifts to buy for Christmas.

lotto-fun-money-card-thoughtful-gift-ideaA few years ago, my son just started his new job and was digging out of his school loan debts. He wanted to give everyone in the family a Christmas gift, and there are 15 of us.

Braden came up with the idea of purchasing $1 lottery tickets. He placed them inside money envelopes to completely keep the recipient off guard for a better surprise.

At the time, the lottery was sitting at $350 million – one of the largest jackpots in history.  It was all over the news making quite a buzz.

The timing couldn’t have been better to give a lottery ticket of this magnitude. Everyone in my family talked about winning and what they would do with the money!

Money & Gloves Go Hand in Hand

httpvh://youtu.be/DKKmh8QoyAE

money-and-gloves-go-hand-and-hand-thoughtful-gift-ideaLooking for a clever way to surprise the gift recipient with money and a pair of gloves?

This idea is so easy peasy. I call it my “Money and Gloves Go Hand in Hand” gift idea.

I like to find a pair of gloves that are out-of-the-ordinary. They could be colorful, unusual, maybe with feathers on the cuff instead of fake fur, or with rhinestones.

You don’t have to limit the gift to just gloves or mittens designed to keep hands warm. Purchase gloves to match their hobbies or profession.

Think garden gloves, bike gloves, baseball gloves, golf gloves, weight lifting gloves, and work gloves.

All you need to create this money gift are:

  • A pair of gloves
  • Bills of money

Harvey is my biggest fan and never fails to read my Sunburst Gifts articles every week. He told me he had to come up with a creative gift for the gift giving Queen! Well… he did an amazing job! Continue Reading

Bubble Calendar Gift Idea

Do you know someone who loves to pop bubble wrap? I have a unique gift that the bubble pop lover will enjoy every day because it doubles as a calendar.

bubble-calendar-wrap-thoughtful-gift-ideaThe Bubble Calendar is a 365 day poster-sized wall calendar with a bubble to pop every day of the year! It includes colored dots to mark birthdays, holidays and special occasions.

When we received items in the mail wrapped in bubble wrap, my kids would immediately place it on the floor and start jumping on it to hear all of the popping noise. Sometimes they would just sit and race each other to see how many they could quickly pop!

bubble-wrap-pop-calendar-thoughtful-gift-ideaWell… I have grown up friends who do the exact same thing.

Young or as I like to say… “slightly seasoned folks”…will love the Bubble Calendar. As the year pops by, you can still feel like a kid every day!

The Bubble Calendar is a fun gift to start off the New Year. It can also be given as a countdown to a special event like graduation or retirement.

We’re all mature until somebody brings out the bubble wrap.  – Unknown
